The Upper Musselshell Conservation District sponsors many educational events to teach youth, adults and organizations about the importance of conserving our natural resources. Workshops and events are collaborated with other agencies, and organizations. Be sure and stop back often to see what we have going on in our community!
May 14th, the Conservation District is collaborating with NRCS and the Judith Gap School to present a “Range Defenders” day of Educational workshops and a weed pull. The workshop is hosted by the Tiger Lily Ranch in Judith Gap, Mt. The educational workshops will include plants, soil, forestry and water. Lunch is provided by the Judith Gap School and the Conservation District is providing Ice Cream Bars.
May 14th @6:30 we are hosting our Local Working Group meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to give you an opportunity to express your natural resource concerns, whether it be a specific weed that needs to be addressed, soil health, unproductive rangeland, aging irrigation, infrastructure, flood damage, areas of education you’d like to see, water quality concerns, forest health or other natural resources issues.
We as a Conservation District are working to address resource concerns and issues that are important to the residents of Wheatland County. We would appreciate your help in developing a list of resource issues, which in turn we will prioritize for our work plan and for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to help landowners implement high priority conservation projects utilizing NRCS technical and financial assistance programs, working together with interested partner organizations.
This meeting is open to the public, including AG producers, government resource agencies, livestock groups, wildlife groups… anyone interested in improving our natural resources!
